The rock is a special "time transporter," and before the children can blink, it carries them away and back in time, to the Lower East Side of the 1880s. There, Moishy and Sury meet the pulsing life of sweatshops and peddlers advertising their wares from pushcarts. They also meet Mindel, a Jewish immigrant girl who keeps getting fired from different jobs because she won’t work on Shabbos.
Can Moishy and Sury help Mindel out? And can they figure out how to help themselves, and get out of the past and back to the present...in time for the fast-approaching Shabbos?
